Olaf Caarls (Long Conversations)
Olaf Caarls has just hit 30 however he is far from looking back on his twenties with satisfaction, still heading out with something to prove. Growing up in a small town in Holland Caarls has peddled his tales of love and loneliness with his full band “Long Conversations” through Central Europe on numerous occasions.
His songs are charged with emotion and deal with the usual themes of death, love, and alcohol: awkward poetry set to sparse chords and uncompromising integrity. Alone on stage is the artist at his most vulnerable, a portrait of a 21st century Sal Paradise approaching the stage with nobody to lean on and nothing to lose.
